Ms. Julie's Shoes

Aren’t my shoes sensible AND fabulous?
I’ve had shoes on my mind since reading
Mary Soderstrom’s new book, The Walkable City.
Did you know that all cities were once walkable?
But, vroom-vroom, with the advent of
the automobile-dependent society…

Maybe these shoes weren’t made for walking.
Funny thing is they make more sense in the kind of dense cities Mary writes about like Toronto, Paris, New York and Singapore. The distances in walkable cities aren't all that great so you can indulge your passion for pretty shoes!
But I've got a knapsack full of QuéBooks and lots of walking to do…

…maybe I’ll wear my sparkly button sandals?

Ooh, I’d love to add these to my collection,
spotted on Laurier Avenue in Outremont, Montreal.
a VERY walkable neighbourhood, by the bye.

Or these? These are VERY comfy.

Want to go for a stroll, sweetie?

“Everybody has secrets. I have a secret.
Don’t you? Deep down,
in your heart of hearts,
as they say…”

Sigh.
My best friend, Neil,
read to me from his new novel,
THE SOUL OF ALL GREAT DESIGNS.

Word on the Street (Toronto): The Author Lounge

What’s in this tent near the port-o-potties?
Water, drip coffee, Styrofoam cups:
It’s the VIP author lounge!

Let us in!

Word on the Street (Toronto): Peter Dubé

Peter happily signed books after reading from
At the Bottom of the Sky as part of Proud Voices…

…and I happily signed Peter in my own special way!

Word on the Street (Toronto): Class Acts

Class and prestige? That’s me, baby!

Uh, me too, I guess.

Tee hee.

Peter Dubé, Ms. Julie & Andrew Hood.
